Snarker Recaps 2x15
Snarker recaps the season finale.2x15 - Additional Recap/Reviews

If you missed this season finale, definitely make time to watch it, it’s worth it.
If walking into a fire isn’t dangerous enough, realizing someone’s waiting for you inside with some concoction to enhance the flames might be. I’ve heard that blue fire is one of the hottest flames and I think the firefighter knew that too when he looked down at his gloved hands and realized his fate. I guess the whole ‘stop, drop and roll’ thing wouldn’t really work in this case.
After the season 1 finale which was suspenseful, shocking and an hour full of action, I was excited for this episode. I don’t know about you guys but for me this episode was not as amazing as the season 1 finale was. However it was good and it certainly leaves us with one big question: What happens now with Jane Rizzoli (Angie Harmon) and Maura Isles’ (Sasha Alexander) friendship?

Reveiws/Recaps/Polls: 2x15 "Burning Down the House"

Recap/review from Examiner.com
A warehouse catches on fire, killing a fireman in the process. As Maura researches fires in the area, the killer comes after her, and ends up running down her mother, Constance, with a car. Maura’s biological father, Patty Doyle, also shows up, but it was nice that none of this had to do with his criminal life. There have already been episodes where Doyle’s crimes and enemies have come after Maura, so while was considered as a possibility, Maura’s troubles were just a side effect of her doing her job.
In a few short weeks, the winter season of Rizzoli & Isles managed to take my favorite characters and throw them into circumstances that had alarming consequences.Remember when Jane was upset with Maura for withholding information from her about her brother? Well, that rift was nothing compared to the chasm created between our dynamic duo at the end of "Burning Down the House."
As much as the viewers expected an impressive Rizzoli & Isleswinter finale, Maura's reaction at the very end was shocking! Especially, since Jane contributed to the circumstances that prompted such reaction.
First things first, though. Billy Burke returns as Agent Gabriel Dean trying to rekindle his relationship with Jane. Despite her romance with Casey, who was Jane's morale support--much more than Dean--despite being overseas, she ends up sleeping with Gabriel.

Season in review by Crackinois
Rarely does a television show in its first season capture my attention and hold it. Rarely does a new show have such wonderful characters that I become completely wrapped up in them…truly and deeply emotionally invested. Rizzoli & Isles had so much potential in its first season. Here were two wonderful female characters that were interesting in what they were at the time, that had many directions they could be taken (particularly after the finale), and had this wonderful subtext that drew in so many LGBT fans to the show. Yes, the writing and plots in season one were a little weak, but I always try to give a new show the benefit of the doubt in hitting its stride when it’s picked up for its sophomore season.

It is now two days after Christmas. If you’re Christian then you are coming down from the gift high and ensconced in the pajama jeans your BFF gave you and swollen with fried Oreos you made because your brother gave you a deep fryer to celebrate the birth of Jesus. If you’re Jewish then Happy Hanukkah! You’ve got one more day of your delicious fried potato holiday. If you’re Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, agnostic, an atheist or any other of the countless faiths upon this earth then it is December 27th and you’re ready for me to get to the recap. The recap of the very last episode of Rizzoli & Isles ever. That is not true. It will be back in the summer of 2012...
In this episode of Rizzoli and Isles, called “Burning Down the House”, the girls are on the case of a firefighter who is killed on duty in a fire. When the evidence starts pointing away from an accident and firmly towards murder, Maura is suddenly a target herself. But the would-be killer misses in his attempt to run her down and instead nearly kills her mother. As if things weren’t hard enough, this brings her biological (and wanted felon) father out of the woodwork. The man wants to protect his daughter and maybe even tell her who her birth mother was but Maura just wants to concentrate on her real mother.

Tamaro Talks Season Finale

TVGuide.com has an interview with Janet where she discusses last night's episode. Read it and tell us your thoughts on her thoughts.
How did this ending come about?Tamaro: I decided midway through the season. It's not mandated by the network that you have to do a cliff-hanger, but as a writer, I like coming up with a good cliff-hanger. As a viewer, I hate it! [Laughs] I hate that final frame where you go, "What?! You're kidding me!" I knew I wanted to leave them at odds with each other and I knew I didn't want to do a repeat of Season 1 where there's some sort of deadly shooting cliff-hanger involving one of them. I wanted to leave the two women with some massively unresolved conflict and a conflict where you can see both sides.

Sasha & Lorraine Talk About the End of Season 2

Snarker Talks 2x14
Snarker's review is up!Girls are dancing in these mid-riff baring numbers and for a second I think best opening to Rizzoli & Isles ever and then I realize the girls are all way, way young and I have to go find some soap and a brush to scrub those split-second inappropriate thoughts from my brain tissue. It’s some sort of dance competition complete with stage moms with video cameras and a dance coach with a shiny, shiny jacket. But then their age inappropriate performance is interrupted by a woman staggering onto the stage with scissors sticking out of her chest. Yes, scissors. Death by scissoring? Oh, Rizzoli & Isles, you cheeky little monkeys.

Snarker Does 2x13
Snarker's posted her recap on 2x13.Previously on Rizzoli & Isles, Dr. Maura Isles told Detective Jane Rizzoli “I love you” over a romantic dinner of grilled cheese and rancid wine. This week, we open with Maura coming out of Jane’s closet. Can I just commend the writers here for their courageous stance on having these two speaking the love that dare not speak its name and coming out as lovers who love ladies? This is really historic. I’m reserving them a space on the police department float in this year’s Boston Gay Pride Parade. Brava, this show. Brava.

Snarker Does 2x12
Snarker has finally put up her rundown of 2x12.I had, briefly, considered just typing out the script word-for-word for tonight’s episode. Because tonight, Rizzles lovers, the line between subtext and maintext became so irreversibly blurred that it’s almost just a straight-up recap. Almost. Well, at least in my head. Well, always in my head. And away we go.
The Rizzoli-Isles family is all at the dinner table together, because where else would they be? It’s a farewell to Tommy and I think I can safely say from all of us gay ladies – don’t let that door that hit you in the ass on the way out, chess boy. Mama Rizzoli is all proud of her 32-year-old ex-con son for cutting up celery and broccoli. Elder siblings Frankie and Jane are somewhat less impressed, they’re apparently saving their “good job, gold star” faces for when he does something truly impressive like peel a banana or tie his shoes.

tv.shut.net has a review up:
"He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" portrayed Jane Rizzoli in many roles including mediator, mentor, disappointed sister, and wounded friend. She ran the gamut from supportive, to frightened, to outraged and in the end I loved her even more for it.

FemPop has their recap up:
I love how in Boston, according to films and tv, bank robberies happen all of the time. Having visited Boston all of three times ever I’m a little disappointed that I’ve never experienced a robbery there. It’s like not riding a steer in Texas or talking to assholes in LA. If you miss out you’re missing out on a genuine part of the locale.

TheVoiceOfTV.com has their review up:
As the title of this episode of Rizzoli & Isles already indicates, ‘He Ain’t Heavy, He’s my Brother’ resolves around someone’s brother. In this case, both Jane Rizzoli’s (Angie Harmon) brother as well as a robbery/murder suspect’s brother and you just know that if Tommy Rizzoli (Colin Egglesfield) is around, trouble can’t be far off. This episode, that is no different.

Reviews/Recaps 2x12 "He Ain't Heavy"

The Examiner.com has their review up:
Check the rest here.
The gang finds themselves working with the FBI on a murder/bank robbery. As it turns out, Frost knows the head FBI agent, Anna. The angry banter between them is hilarious. Korsak does some snooping, and Frost and Anna were engaged! Sadly Korsak never confronts Frost about it. That was the one thing missing from the storyline. Other than that, the Anna and Frost storyline was a nice addition to the episode. It was nice to have a funny Frost storyline in there.

TVFanatic.com has their recap up:
"He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" portrayed Jane Rizzoli in many roles including mediator, mentor, disappointed sister and wounded friend. She ran the gamut from supportive, to frightened, to outraged - and, in the end, I loved her even more for it.
Let's start with mentor. Jane did a great job of connecting with the female FBI agent. There may have been some friction over a jurisdictional dispute but Jane never let it ruffle her feathers. She also didn't take the easy road of berating the younger, less experienced woman when she didn't check the van or came on too strong with the grieving widow. Jane bolstered her confidence instead of tearing her down and earned some much deserved respect in the process.

DeamonTV has their review up:
Once again Rizzoli & Isles uses its title as an ongoing theme throughout an episode. Tonight’s “He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother” refers to a couple sets of problematic siblings. First there’s the guy who’s considered the good brother in his family, who decides to start robbing banks and gets his bad brother (who’s actually trying to be good) killed.

Rizzoli and Isles returned to heat up our holiday season with murder, possible dirty cops, and Bill O'Reilly. Yup, you read that right. The political pundit made a guest appearance in "Can I Get a Witness?" playing none other than himself and he didn't do a bad job of it.

World AIDS Day - A Time to Unite
December 1st is World AIDS Day. No doubt you will find a lot of news today on AIDS and the virus that causes it, HIV. We urge you to pay attention, and, even more importantly, we urge you to go out and do something to help fight the good fight.Though today is set aside as a day to spotlight the issues surrounding the spread of HIV and what can be done to prevent it, we feel that everyday should be the day to teach others what can be done to protect themselves and their loved ones from this deadly disease.
What's more, we want to remind everyone that those who have contracted the virus or have the disease are not to be shunned or made to feel as outcasts. They are people who need our love, support, and touch. Never underestimate the power of something as simple as a hug.
As you go about your day today, take some time to educate yourself, then go out and find ways to help educate, help, and support those in your community battling this disease. As with all things in this world, we're all in this together.

Snarker Reviews 2x11
Snarker is at it once again, and we love her for it.Like the gay poltergeists in your television, they’re baaaack. Det. Jane Rizzoli and Dr. Maura Isles have returned to solve Boston’s toughest crimes and bicker like an old married couple. The winter run brings us five more episodes and – with any luck – 10 episodes worth of eye sex, Totally Gratuitous, Totally Gay Touching and other assorted extremely lesbian behaviors from supposedly non-lesbian characters. So strap in and put on your subtext goggles. This is gonna be good.

TV Tango Exclusive Interview with Sasha Alexander

www.tvtango.com interviews Sasha.
TV Tango: Are you ever surprised by the continued success of RIZZOLI & ISLES?
Sasha Alexander: Sure. I think that it's an interesting thing, television. The most important thing for us is to continue making good shows and having people come back and watch it and enjoy it and take what they can from it. We're on that treadmill; so when you put it out into the ether and how people interpret it and take it and what they make of it is all great and the numbers just come out of that. But it really does start with us doing the work and doing stuff that we feel we're proud of, and leading the show in a direction that we want to put out. I think we really felt that this season.

Sasha Alexander previews friendship woes and danger

EW.com talks to Sasha.
Rizzoli & Isles begins its final stretch of season 2 episodes tonight on TNT with more of the same — and that’s anything but a bad thing. In its time on the cable network, the show has found a comfortable existence on Procedural Way, its two excellent female leads, Sasha Alexander and Angie Harmon, at the helm. And in these last five episodes of the season, Alexander, who navigated the waters over at NCIS for eight years before her Rizzoli gig, says the show’s seemingly simple formula has more than a few turns in store for viewers.

Rizzoli & Isles’ second season took a short hiatus on TNT for the last few months, but now that it is coming back, it is going all out with complex cases and big name guest stars. Butch in Progress has fun recap up.
They’re back! Finally! Rizzoli & Isles is back on our TV for the final five episodes of the second season and they’re as gay as ever. With a surprising twist, however: Maura is out-gaying Jane “Butch McFabulous” Rizzoli. Look for the evidence for how this is possible after the break:

The Voice of TV has things thoughts up.
After a few months of hiatus, Rizzoli & Isles returned with Can we get a Witness. Sadly I have to say, for its return, I had hoped on a stronger episode, more memorable. And I even missed the humor that normally seems to be more pronounced. However, it was a solid episode. Not the best, but definitely not the worst.
Maybe this season they veered into the more serious direction. Which is fine. Every show, every season has a change so this may be Rizzoli & Isles.

xfinity.com interviewed Sasha Alexander about the series finale. It's good stuff.
On Nov. 28, Angie Harmon and Sasha Alexander will be back in action when “Rizzoli & Isles” returns with five exciting new episodes to wrap up the second half of the second season –and, according to Alexander, we have a lot to look forward to.
There are some big stunts coming, Jane’s love life heats up with the return of her military man and the puzzles get more intricate as Jane Rizzoli [Harmon] and Maura Isles [Alexander] continue to put away the bad guys.

R&I and C&L - Did You Catch That?
nola.com has a great article on R&I and how Cagney & Lacey has influenced.
It’s been a long time since Christine Cagney and Mary Beth Lacey cracked crime cases, but not so long ago that “Rizzoli & Isles” fans don’t recognize some of the “Cagney & Lacey” chemistry at work in the newer TNT drama.
A big-city setting (though it’s Boston instead of New York City).
A crime-solving duo of female pals from dissimilar backgrounds.
An ampersand in the title.
And, most notably, a lot of light humor mixed in with the procedural grist.

Angie Harmon, Twangels, and Sharing the Love

@3doorsfan, @boccadeee, @yankeegirl6128, @newski82, @iheartrizzoli,
@3doorsfan was kind enough to provide an account of what happened that night. Please do not repost without permission. A wonderful thing has been done where these ladies allowed us to share in their moment. Let's respect that they were selfless enough to do that. :-)
_________________________________________________
“Hey kids, I will be lighting the #Unicef snow flake in NYC Monday nite!! If ur in the neighborhood come see me! Make a sign if a #twangel & I’ll come say hi & give u a #twug!!”
That little tweet from Angie Harmon was enough to kick my butt into gear and make the call to go to New York City. I ran out to the store to pick up my neon green and orange poster boards and big blue stick-on letters. Once home, I created my sign while talking to @Kris2813 on the phone and sending her pictures to get her opinion … after all, this was serious business.
(picture thanks to @3doorsfan)
Monday morning I gathered all my things, including my copy of the Rizzoli & Isles TV Guide I hoped to be able to have autographed, and headed out to catch a train into NYC. Easy commute, easy check-in, easy finding the location for the UNICEF Snowflake Lighting Ceremony - it all seemed … too easy. I was the ONLY Twangel there at the time I arrived … at about 3:15 p.m. Yep, just me and the set-up crew – and the security detail that was pointing out exactly which square of sidewalk I was allowed to loiter around.
After a few hours of trying to figure out where I was going to be able to stand once the ceremony actually began, I met up with@boccadeee, @yankeegirl6128, @newski82, @iheartrizzoli, @ateaaa , and their brother.
(picture thanks to @boccadeee)
Everyone was so nice and we united to stand together so Angie could see us in one big bunch. Security, having seen that we were there for a while and had signs, let us go to the front – just to the right of the section reserved for media and photographers. Not only did we have a great view of everything going on, but we could be seen from the top of the stairs and inside the church, which is EXACTLY where Ms. Angie Harmon was standing! We caught a glimpse of her reflection in the mirrored doors of the church. Queue up the excitement and maybe just a little bit of squealing. And NOT just from us! Angie looked out, saw us and waved very excitedly. She touched her heart and blew kisses, honestly and truly touched that we had come out to show our support and to get to meet her.
She read our signs from the top of the stairs and I can truly say that I felt like when she read mine, we shared a moment. She pointed to me, smiled widely and I did the same in return. I’m sure the other Twangels in attendance feel the same happened when she read their signs!
At that point, the Broadway Kids Care Choir lined the steps of the church around the stage to sing a few Christmas carols (which, admittedly, it was a little strange hearing when it was about 63 degrees in the city), followed by opening remarks by the President and CEO of the U.S. Fund for UNICEF, Caryl Stern. She spoke about the mission of UNICEF and the meaning of the Snowflake, which is a reminder of the commitment to keep striving for the day no children die in the world from preventable diseases.
Angie motioned to us that she had to honor all of her commitments to the UNICEF ceremony first but was adamant in reassuring us that she would indeed be over to greet us and the excitement level just exploded from there. Once Ms. Stern was finished speaking, she introduced Angie. Upon her introduction we all cheered pretty heartily and what was even more amazing, when she took the microphone, she acknowledged that “TWANGELS ARE HERE!” and pointed to us. She spoke about being honored to be asked to come and light the snowflake and what New York City meant to her, as well as what UNICEF does for children around the world. It was clearly evident that this organization is one very near and dear to her heart.
Angie introduced The Jersey Boys, who came out and sang a few Christmas songs from their soon-to-be-released holiday album. Again, as she waited on the side near the stairwell by where we were, she was again motioning to us that she would be over as soon as she was finished. When The Jersey Boys were finished singing, she took the stage with a group and we all counted down to the flick of the switch which illuminated the snowflake.
At that point, she came down the stairs and made a beeline right for us. It. Was. Awesome. She greeted us very warmly and my specific experience is one I will never, ever forget. It felt like she was greeting me as she would greet an old friend.
“I know who you are, get in here,” Angie said as she excitedly waved me in toward her with a huge, warm smile.
“I’m Doorsy!” I told her, most excited.
She extended her arm, smiled brightly and said “Hi baby,” and with that, pulled me into a very warm, enthusiastic hug – the kind where you rock side-to-side. And yes, I squealed. I never squeal, just so you know. I also told her that I had to hug her for a ton of Twangels and she loved that. She also said how it’s so nice to be able to put a face with the names she sees on Twitter.
“I’m so happy y’all came to see me!” Angie told us and then proceeded to start signing various pictures and signs. She was gracious and sweet, not to mention very funny. We even joked about her very famous “REALLY?!?” I jokingly said “Really, Angie, Really?!” and she said it right back to me and even signed a picture for me and put REALLY?!? in parenthesis. (This picture was given to me by @boccadeee once she arrived on the scene!) She also told us that Jane doesn’t really say “really?!?” a lot, but she’s changed that.
(Picture thanks to @3doorsfan)
Angie was gushing over us and told me she loves that we tweet her and to keep tweeting her. At one point, she was signing some pictures @boccadeee had brought with her to give to other people who were unable to attend. Angie couldn’t believe after all that she didn’t have one for herself and she said “God, I have the best people! I love y’all!”
(Video thanks to @3doorsdown)
She was even gracious enough to take the time to make a quick video message to her Twangels!
Angie’s people were finally trying to hurry her along but she really didn’t want to leave. She kept telling them to hang on and wait. I jokingly suggested that we should all go out for a drink and she replied “Where are we going?” As she was being ushered away finally she motioned to tweet her where we would be going for a drink! At least all of us thought that’s what she was saying! So we proceeded to tweet her a spot and it was a few hours later when I got a tweet asking “where r y’all?!!” Even though we had disbanded, we would surely have gotten right back out there to have a drink with Angie, however after another hour, she tweeted “Too sleepy … NIGHTIME Love yall” Guess the poor woman was exhausted after her very busy day!
Angie was so very sweet to all of us and so appreciative that we were there to see her. She could not have been any more gracious, kind, nice, attentive … the list of adjectives is unending. Suffice it to say this folks: Angie Harmon is a very beautiful person, both inside and out and I’m so thankful for the opportunity to have met this very lovely woman.
