Tess at the Owl and Turtle

Another of our girls was lucky enough to see Tess on the first day of her book tour. She's been kind enough to allow us to post her photos from the event.

Here's what she had to say:

I was lucky enough to be able to attend the first book signing at the Owl and Turtle (insert Bass joke here) on her book tour for the Silent Girl in her hometown in Camden, Maine.

It was a great turnout and Tess was so lovely and gracious in signing books and DVDs. She also gave a talk about the new book, her heritage as Chinese-American and personal stories growing up in America, as well as the characters and the TV show.

I asked her about the inspiration for the characters and which character does she relate to the most. She mentioned her intent was to kill off Jane Rizzoli but that she sort of fell in love with the character (we all thank her she did!). She relates more to Maura, in the books they have the same background (degree in Anthropology and an MD) as well as they both like the same wine!

She also mentioned regarding the the writers thoughts on the Jane and Maura TV character dynamic was akin to that of Kirk and Spock.

She also gave out a few Team Maura and Team Jane T-shirts (which I won!).
Even if you don't get to see her on tour, I highly recommend going out and getting The Silent Girl, it is a great read!

Thanks,
Margaret @nittwit277

Thank you, Margaret, for sharing with us!

We love Tess; the woman has nothing but class! If you love her as much as we do, and you're able, go see her tonight (assuming tickets are still available when you read this ;-) ).
